At Chasing Rainbows we want to be able to provide peer support to every woman who has suffered the loss of a baby no matter the gestation of your loss, how many miscarriages you have suffered. We know that each persons experience is different and individual to them and so you are able to self refer via an online form on which you can tell us your history and we can then triage you to the most appropriate support that we can offer you.
Why Peer Support?
Our founder Samantha experienced 5 miscarriages and during that time she realised there is a huge lack of support and after care with regard to mental health and being able to process the feelings and grief of losing a baby. She reached out online using forums and blogs to find other women that had been through what she had, that she could talk to. Speaking to other women that could connect on another level and really understand massively helped her journey to move forward. Chasing rainbows was created to encourage peer support and connect people when they are dealing with infertility and pregnancy loss, meaning that less women and partners would feel alone and isolated.
Recurrent Miscarriage Support Group
Our recurrent miscarriage support group is appropriate for women that have suffered three or more consecutive miscarriages.
The group provides knowledge and support to help women to be able to self-advocate to healthcare professionals about the care they receive and are entitled to as a recurrent miscarriage patient. The group is a safe and welcoming environment for women to share their story and meet other women that have experienced the same or similar on their journey to a rainbow baby. If you think you would like to join a meeting you can fill in our self-referral form. The group is facilitated by charity founder Samantha Catanach.
Chasing Rainbows Pen Pals 1-2-1 Peer Support
We have many women reach out to us for support after suffering a miscarriage or early pregnancy loss that feel they need some support and someone to talk to that understands how they are feeling. Our chasing rainbows pen pals are peer supporters with lived experience that are there to be a listening ear and to validate all of those feelings that come with your loss. Your pen pal will be contactable via email to talk about your experiences and to help you process your feelings with someone that ‘just gets it’. Sometimes someone saying “I felt exactly the same” is just what you need to hear. If you would be interested in been matched with one of our pen pals you just need to fill in the form on our Pen Pals page.
